Chris has over 25 years of experience in laboratories across a wide range of industry sectors including Veterinary, Environmental and Forensics. From working at the bench to leading complex multi-site laboratory businesses Chris enjoys working with enthusiastic and passionate teams to continually improve services for customers. He holds a BSc in Analytical Chemistry and an MBA from Leeds University Business School. Having previously spent several years in the veterinary industry, he joined Lab Services in 2023.

I have started my journey in veterinary medicine by qualifying as a veterinary nurse in Romania, and subsequently after I have enrolled myself at university to become a veterinary surgeon. I have relocated my studies to the University of Bologna, in Italy, where I have graduated with honours in 2010. In 2011 after working for a year in the laboratory of a private veterinary hospital in Italy, I have returned to the University to undertake a PhD. I have defended and was awarded with the title in 2014. In 2015 I have started the Residency in veterinary clinical pathology at a commercial lab in the U.K., and in 2021 I became a Diplomate in Clinical Pathology with the American College of Veterinary Pathology. Through my training and subsequently, I had the opportunity to work in different labs, in commercial and academic settings in Italy, USA, and UK. My interest are cytology, haematology, oncology, and infectious diseases.

Elpida graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Thessaloniki, Greece. After further completing a small-animal internship in her university, she worked as a small animal vet in the UK for six years. Following this, she undertook a residency in Clinical Pathology at the University of Bristol and after completion, she worked as a Clinical Pathologist in VPG Exeter before returning to Langford Veterinary Services, University of Bristol, in 2018 as a Clinical Pathologist, while also being actively involved in the training and supervision of Clinical Pathology interns and residents. She became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (Clinical Pathology) in 2018, and in 2022 also became certified by the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists. While remaining part-time in Langford, she recently joined the Lab Services team, excited to join new and older colleagues, and excited about the opportunity to be part of a growing laboratory service and to be contributing to the support and training of vets, scientists and future residents, something that she is passionate about.

Sonia graduated from University of Leon, Spain, in 2013. She moved to the UK shortly after and spent several years working in small animal general practice, including two years as locum vet. Sonia also completed two rotating internships, one at North Downs Specialists Referrals (Surrey) and the second one at the University of Cambridge. She completed her postgraduate certificate in Small Animal Internal Medicine (ESAVS, University of Luxembourg) in 2019. Sonia then moved to Bristol where she obtained a master's degree and completed a three-year clinical pathology residency training programme at the Diagnostic Labs in Langford, University of Bristol. She subsequently passed her board examinations and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
Outside of work, Sonia enjoys making art, dancing, capturing the beauty of life and travels with her camera, and spending time with her friends, family and most especially her cats.

Helen worked as a laboratory analyst and head of department in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for 7 years and graduated with a BSc from the Open University in 2017 before joining Lab Services in 2019 as Technical Manager. Responsible for facilities and equipment maintenance, and project management. Helen is also Deputy Quality Manager and Training Officer.

Liam Evans

Prior to Lab Services Liam worked across diagnostic, sampling and testing Laboratories for over 5 years at The Animal and Plant Health Agency. There he planned, co-ordinated and undertook the delivery of a range of Pathology requirements – including surveillance portfolio work, U.K. Government strategic research and commercial contracts. Adjacent to this, his responsibilities included ensuring adherence to the relative legislative and regulatory quality, and health and safety frameworks and requirements for a high security bio-containment facility. As part of U.K Government emergency measures, Liam has been selected for several emergency outbreak teams – including secondment for public and NHS SARS-CoV-2 testing and the ongoing Avian Influenza response. Liam holds a first class BSc in Forensic Science.

Olga studied Medicine in the Republic of Moldova for 6 years before undertaking a further qualification in Laboratory Medicine (2016). Olga has 3 years' experience as a BMS.

Donald has multi-disciplinary experience over many years working in human healthcare, most extensively in Haematology. In his most recent role, he worked as Senior Biomedical Scientist in a busy clinical diagnostic laboratory in Nigeria. He joined our Haematology Team in 2022.

Monique qualified as a Biomedical Technologist from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa. She has completed specialisations in Haematology and Clinical Pathology. She worked as Deputy Head of a multi-disciplinary Clinical Trial laboratory for 5 years before moving into an International medical diagnostics company for 14 years. She has joined the Haematology team at Lab Services in 2022.

Sadia has joined Lab Services Ltd. in 2021as VLA and progressed to VBMS(Haematology). She had graduated with DVM (2010) from University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan and completed MSc Biomedical Sciences (2021) from University of East London, UK. She worked with a Candian ENGO CEDA which held a project for rural women entrepreneurship working in dairy and livestock sector of Pakistan. She then joined as veterinary officer/practitioner in public sector in Pakistan soon after graduation.

I have a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science from the department of biomedical sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Oyo state, Nigeria where I graduated with second class upper division with honors. I have a certificate training in basic and clinical toxicology at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. Also, I have a master's degree in biomedical sciences (PhD grade) from the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, Germany. I am a licensed biomedical scientist in Nigeria with the medical laboratory science council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and the health and care professional council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom. I have a ten year post graduate working experience as a biomedical scientist in Nigeria, Germany and the United kingdom.
In Nigeria, I worked as a biomedical scientist (clinical biochemistry) at the University College Hospital Ibadan, Federal Medical Center Owo and the head of diagnostic services at Fitrah diagnostics, Kano. While in Germany, I worked at the genetic engineering and stem cell culture unit as a research assistant at the department of natural sciences, University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in the field of regenerative medicine (stem cell) and molecular biology. Furthermore, I worked with Centogene Biotech company located in cologne as a medical technologist and a senior public health consultant with Europe-Africa solutions in Bonn, before I relocated to the United Kingdom where I worked as a senior biomedical scientist across several NHS laboratories namely in Winchester, Bedford and Portsmouth mostly in the field of haematology.
